Aerobic Step Equipment for

For A Low
Cost Workout
With your own home aerobic step
equipment, you can get a great workout whenever you want. At
the same time, you will be amazed how much you can save on gym
memberships and classes.
What Is Aerobic Exercise?
Aerobic means "with oxygen", so aerobic exercise is any form
of exercise that works the lungs along with other parts of the
body. This includes fast walking, running, skipping, swimming,
cycling, dance and of course, step aerobics. If you go to an
aerobics class at the gym it will usually include dance and
stepping.
Aerobic exercise is the best way for
most people to achieve their fitness goals. It is also great
for weight loss.
Advantages Of Step Aerobics
If you want a form of aerobic exercise that can be practised
indoors, then step aerobics is a great choice. It has been
around for 25 years and is as popular and successful as ever.
It gives you a good workout that is quick and fun, with great
results.
Aerobic step equipment is very simple and inexpensive. All
you need to buy is the basic step bench. Compare this to the
cost of a stationary cycling machine, treadmill or other forms
of home gym equipment and you will see how much you save by
choosing stepping.
A step bench is also very easy to store and only requires a
small space for use, so you can exercise in the smallest
apartment or the most crowded house. Benches come in different
heights and some are adjustable so that you can gradually
increase the height as you become fitter.
Step aerobics involves stepping up onto the bench and then
down. Sounds easy, but doing this to upbeat music will give you
a surprisingly strong workout. Because the legs have to lift
the body up each time, stepping works the legs and buttocks
harder than most other forms of exercise. It also works the
cardiovascular system, improving your overall level of strength
and fitness.
Using Aerobic Step Equipment
Step aerobics is a great form of exercise for the majority
of people. However, if you are very overweight, any form of
aerobic exercise will put stress on your joints that might
cause damage, so you should consult your doctor before starting
any exercise program. The same applies if you have had past
problems with your knees, hips or back, or if you have any
heart or lung disease or other medical issues. In addition,
anybody who has difficulty with balance should not use a step
bench.
Using a step bench safely is mostly a matter of common
sense. Here are some tips:
- Start with some warm-up and stretching exercises.
- Do not use a bench that is too high for you, and stop when
you are tired. You need to be alert and able to step up easily
to avoid risking a fall or an ankle injury.
- Wear suitable footwear, such as shoes designed for
running.
- Stay close to the bench so that you don't have to stretch
out when you step up.
- Look down at the bench when you are about to step onto it,
to place the foot accurately. Your whole foot should be
supported by the step. Never step onto the edge of the
bench.
- Exercise to music with a regular and steady beat.
With these tips in mind you can get fit and have fun at the
same time with home aerobic step equipment.
